Ten Pen Chii art labor: created and directed by dancer and choreo-
grapher Yumiko Yoshioka, and sculptor Joachim Manger.
They are an experimental multi-media performance group that resides in the castle at Schloss Bröllin.
Ten is the sky; Chi, the earth; Pen, the change; and the extra i stands for difference. When the sky changes, the earth changes.
In short, natural catastrophe. The Japanese-German art collaboration have been creating performances since 1994. In their performances they use moving flesh with tones of music and color and expressions of lighting within site-specific installations that act as a framework of a new world. They strive to pull together the inspirations of the dance with the ambiance of the environment of light and music, into an experience of singularity.
Ten Pen Chii does not assimilate the Inferno. The group finds forms of expression to describe the violent relationship of man, man-made nature and technology. Ten Pen Chii does not forget the fact that some of man’s created endeavors transpire beyond the existence of the Initiator.
We have been working together with Ten Pen Chii for a while now and looking farward to the next stuff that is already in the pipeline.
